FINANCIAL TIMES: Held in reserve: “There is nothing sinister, however, about Brinded's absence. This is a return to Shell's normal practice for first and third quarters (at least when there's no surprising news about reserves). It appears, then, that investors should begin to worry only if Brinded is unexpectedly present.” (ShellNews.net) 28 April 05

Malcolm Brinded became a fixture at Royal Dutch/ Shell's meetings with analysts and press in the tumultuous past year. So Mudlark was disappointed to see that Shell's head of exploration and production won't be a "host" at today's first-quarter results. Jeroen van der Veer, chief executive, and Peter Voser, finance director, have top conference call billing.

There is nothing sinister, however, about Brinded's absence. This is a return to Shell's normal practice for first and third quarters (at least when there's no surprising news about reserves). It appears, then, that investors should begin to worry only if Brinded is unexpectedly present.
