Our K-reg Saab 900 XS has developed an impossible-to-diagnose fault. Its engine begins to lose power a minute or two after running normally. It feels as if the brakes have suddenly been applied. A warning light comes on and the manual indicates a fuel-injection problem. The garage has checked everything, including the ECU, but the problem remains. We started using supermarket petrol about three months ago. Could that have had any effect?
