Walter van de Vijver, who complained that he was “tired of lying” about Shell’s oil and gas reserves, is to receive a payoff of £2.5 million. The payment to Mr van de Vijver, the former head of exploration who lost his job over the affair, exceeds the £1 million paid to Sir Philip Watts, the former chairman.
