ROYAL Dutch/Shell has restarted production from its Dunlin platform in the UK northern North Sea after a three-month shutdown due to a gas leak.
Shell has brought production from the Dunlin, Osprey and Merlin oil fields up to 12,600 barrels per day, the level it was prior to the closure on August 15 when the Anglo-Dutch oil major detected a gas build-up in one of the platform's legs. 'The Health and Safety Executive were fully involved in an integrity check before we started to produce again from Dunlin,' said a Shell spokesman.
