At least four companies are understood to be preparing to bid for Royal Dutch/Shell’s Intergen power generation business, which could fetch about $4 billion (£2 billion).

Scottish Power, the electricity utility, said that it will build and own the Maple Ridge Windfarm in New York state alongside Zilkha Renewable Energy, its joint venture partner.
