SHANGHAI Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), which walked away from rescuing MG Rover, is to form a joint venture with oil giant Shell setting up a car maintenance business across China.
The business will be modelled on Shell's Jiffy Lube in the United States which offers motorists various services including a rapid oil change.
The Shangahi-based Anji Jiffy Lube Automotive will spend $23 million (£12 million) opening its first 10 outlets around Shangahi in Us first year of operation. It has plans to grow this to up to 600 sites spread across China within a decade.
