SINGAPORE: Petrol company Shell has raised more than S$718,000 in donations for the Singapore Red Cross to help tsunami victims.
The money was raised from a 5-cent donation from every litre of petrol and diesel it sold for a week.
More than S$171,000 was also raised during the recent Caltex Masters golf tournament.
Money was raised from every birdie, eagle and hole-in-one that the professional golfers scored.
Even the amateurs got into the act, in its Pro-Am tournament and other golfing activities. - CNA
